Guest Speaker | KATHRYN SCHUBACK
Topic | WELLBEING. INTIMACY. YOUTH: The art of creating a ‘fearless’ film set.
Kathryn Schuback brings over 20 years of on-set experience in commercial, TV, theatre and film productions, internationally and across Australia. As a Wellbeing Coordinator, Intimacy Coordinator, Actor and Drama Coach, she is dedicated to fostering a positive, and psychologically safe culture on and off set — advocating for the wellbeing of everyone in the room, from cast to crew.
Kathryn brings a uniquely ‘human’ understanding of how productions move from first read to final cut — the communication, organisation, care and amount of banana bread required at every stage.
As a Drama Coach, she has worked with leading young actors across the globe, collaborating with Sarah Snook, Alexander Skarsgard, Josh O’Connor, Phoebe Tonkin, Billy Howle, Daina Reid…to name a few. Kathryn has credited on productions such as Kangaroo, Kid Snow, Rebuilding, and The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands, as well as supported in pre-production on a list of others including, Run Rabbit Run, RUNT, and The Clearing.
Alongside the film industry, Kathryn has worked as a specialist educator across NSW schools, including teaching homeless youth for Youth Off The Streets, supporting youth Mental Health and Suicide Prevention programs, and patrolling for Surf Lifesaving Australia.
A dedicated advocate for young people and psychologically safe workplaces, Kathryn draws on her multi-faceted experience and training to help productions thrive from Day 1.
