Guest Speaker: Monica Davidson

Monica Davidson
Monica Davidson has never had a proper job. She has been freelance since she was sixteen years old; first as a journalist while still at high school, and later as a writer and filmmaker.
Monica started in the film industry by working her way through every crew role imaginable, and getting a degree in Communications, before directing her first TV feature in 1993. She started her own production company the following year, and Twoshotmedia is now one of Australia’s most respected small production houses, working exclusively with government clients.
At the same time, Monica used her expertise on freelancing and self-employment to start Freelance Success, an organisation that provides training and support to people working in the arts. She co-authored Freelancing for Australians For Dummies, which was published in 2008 by Wiley Publishing.
Monica is also a mother, a movie buff, a lover of pink champagne and a devotee of pub karaoke.
