Membership
NAFA is supported by a subscription-based Membership. Members are entitled to a number of great benefits detailed below.
NAFA Service Providers may require proof that you are a current Member by asking for your membership card or number. By providing a NAFA membership card or number, you consent to the Service Provider calling NAFA to confirm your membership.
Fees
The subscription fee will be AU$60.00 (AU$40.00 for students) for 12 months. Fees will be determined on a yearly basis. You don’t need to be a Member to attend the Choc Tops meetings.
List of Benefits
Listed below are the main long-term offerings. Members will be notified by e-mail of many other short-term and one-off benefits.
- Your details (CV and headshot) will be placed in the “Red NAFA Folder”.
This folder will be brought to every NAFA networking meeting and can be viewed by anyone casting or crewing, even in your absence. NAFA Productions will also use the folder when casting or crewing for its own projects. - Production companies, smaller advertising agencies, casting agents, and independent producers and directors increasingly look to NAFA for cast and crew. Such requests will only be forwarded to current Members.
[The requests can be for paid or unpaid work and notification will be by email. We endeavour to be associated only with credible projects.] - Free admission to the monthly Choc Tops meetings (otherwise $5).
- A detailed report of the Choc Tops meeting will be sent to Members, including any casting or crew calls. This is especially useful if you miss a meeting.
- The free Script Development Workshops are offered only to Members.
- Free submission of films to NAFA’s short film festivals as well as free admission to the screenings.
- Chance to perform at NAFA Talent Time, the yearly variety night held in November, showcasing live performances by Members.
- Invitations to premieres and film screenings and offers of complimentary tickets will be emailed to Members and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Affiliated Service Providers will give special discounts to Members upon presentation of the membership card.
